Our goal is to teach children to passionately love God, His Word, and all people, and to train them to become leaders who will impact and change the world for God.
Southlands Kids programming is for kids aged 1 year-5th grade. Preschoolers and elementary school students go over a Gospel Project Bible lesson, an age-appropriate activity, and spend time on the playground during their service time! Services in kids ministry are full of fun, learning about Jesus, and time with friends!
Each of our teachers have been background checked and trained to love and serve children in helpful ways.
Southlands’ mission is to be a Gospel-centered, Spirit-empowered community on mission and we believe our children have a significant role to play within our mission.

When dropping your child off, especially for the first few times, take a moment to meet our leaders and share anything that will help us care for and serve your child well!
Your kids will enjoy games, snacks, a Bible lesson, worship and fellowship with friends! It is a privilege to see them grow in their relationship with Jesus.
Children are welcome to join our Kids Ministry or stay with you during the main gathering. Our community welcomes both approaches!
PARTNERING WITH PARENTS
At Southlands we believe parents and primary caregivers, before any other institution, are responsible for the spiritual nurturing AND discipleship of their children. Our goal is to partner with parents as they shepherd their kids and help provide resources and tools along the way.
To supplement the ongoing nurturing, training, and education provided by parents, we see value in the following:
- Teach major narratives, themes, and the central message of the Bible.
- Help children memorize and understand key Bible verses.
- See godly friendships form and a respect for others nurtured.
- Instill a respect for the God-given authorities in their lives.
- Apply scriptural teachings to everyday situations children face.
- Cultivate the fruits and gifts of the Spirit in those who have accepted Christ as their Savior.
- Help children understand the Gospel and how to share it with unchurched people in their lives.
- Teach about the three unique persons of the Godhead: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
- Foster an environment of worship and prayer
- Provide a creative, safe, and fun environment in which children are loved, accepted and acknowledged as beloved children of God.
SAFETY PROTOCOL
Our children are very valuable to us, and their safety and well-being are our highest priority. These simple guidelines help us create a safe, secure environment where every child can learn, grow, and thrive in Kid's Ministry at Southlands Santa Ana.
Sunday morning check-in/check-out process:
- All children must be checked in prior to the start of service at the check-in table.
- Please place the printed out name tag on your child and keep the check-out tag with you.
- Walk your children to their classroom.
- Children will ONLY be released to the pre-assigned parent/care giver.
For the protection of all children, please do not bring your child to class if they exhibit any of the following:- Fever, vomiting, and/or diarrhea in the last 24 hours
- Any unexplained rash
- Cloudy or green runny nose
- Persistent cough
- Symptoms of common childhood illnesses: chicken pox, strep throat, pinkeye, etc.
