As believers we are called out of darkness and into light, once separated from God and now reunited with him as his people. We are one body united in Him and as such, our body needs all it's parts in order to function. We strive, as a community, to display that unity to the world as a light, in service to one another, to our community, and our city. Join with us as we all seek to be the Body of Christ to the world.

Our serve teams are a vital part of how we attend to the needs of the body day in and day out. Some opportunities are on Sundays, some are ongoing, and some are occasional,
but all opportunities are valuable. Check out the brief descriptions below to see what may be a fit for you and then complete the serve form below.

Prayer Ministry

We are passionate about submitting everything to the Lord. If you have a heart for prayer and encouraging others through praying over their needs, we would love to hear from you!

Children's Ministry

The Children’s Ministry is an opportunity to train young minds and hearts in the ways of God. Our twofold purpose is to free parents up to take part in the gathering and teach the little ones about Jesus. We learn, play and have fun doing it! The commitment is one Sunday per month.

Worship Ministry

We have the privilege of using our musical gifts to usher people into the presence of the Lord through worship. If you can sing or play an instrument, let us know!

Billy Chedester

Logistics Ministry

The logistics team focuses on the necessary work in the background of church meetings so the church-wide focus remains on Jesus Christ. This translates into setting up, preparing communion, moving chairs, and then the joyous task of tearing it all down again. Join us if you’re not afraid to roll up your sleeves and enjoy the honor of humble service. The commitment is one Sunday per month.

Connections Ministry

Come join us as we welcome people and connect them at Southlands. Duties include welcoming visitors, helping people find their way around the facility and connecting over coffee at the conclusion of the gathering. The commitment is one Sunday per month.

Julia Santiago

Media Ministry

We are the button pushers, level pullers and magicians behind the scenes that handle lighting, sound, video. We serve Jesus out of the spotlight because we’re controlling the spotlights (among other things). Join us if you're techy or want to learn! The commitment is one Sunday per month.

Donna Toberty

Hospitality Ministry

We love to create an environment where people feel welcome and blessed with warm coffee, snacks and refreshments. Duties include setting up and tearing down the hospitality table. The commitment is one Sunday per month.

Nick Plunkett

Sound Ministry

Similar to the media team, we also work behind the scenes to make sure sound is running smoothly for worship, preaching, the livestream and all fronts. Join us if you're techy or want to learn! The commitment is one Sunday per month.

How do I serve?

To start the process of volunteering is simple. Simply fill our our SERVE form here. From there, one of our volunteer leaders or volunteer team leaders will reach out to you to discuss the opportunity to serve more.
There are many ways that you can serve, feel free to select more than one on the SERVE form and we can discuss with you opportunities you might thrive in!

How do I serve with kids?

Our children's ministry is a massive blessing to our community and a tremendous opportunity to teach and demonstrate who God is in serving our community's kids. We take safety and transparency very seriously with our children's ministry volunteers so there is a bit more of a process. Start with filling out a SERVE form to find out more!

How do I serve with music?

The music team is a group of people willing and able to worship God using their musical gifts. If you can sing or play an instrument, fill out the SERVE form and let us know!

Are there any needs that are not related to Sunday service?

As you might imagine, there are quite a few things entailed in having a thriving community. If you desire to serve the church in very tangible, productive, non-service related ways, there are many opportunities to do so! Whether it be administrative tasks, communications, tech tasks, or creative tasks like graphic design, there are likely opportunities for you. Fill out a SERVE form to get started!
